Arthur DeRoy Rodecker, z’l, was taken from us suddenly on December 7th at the age of 85.

Art, through the DeRoy Testamentary Fund, was one of the founders who provided the initial funding for The Jewish Hospice & Chaplaincy Network. He took an active interest in guiding the organization and enjoyed personal friendships and served as a mentor to JHCN’s Rabbi E.B. (Bunny) Freedman and Rabbi David Nelson.

Art was one of the Jewish community’s great patrons and a benefactor to many of southeast Michigan’s most important causes and institutions. He was respected and beloved by his many friends and colleagues. His vision, leadership and generosity will leave an indelible legacy for generations. His friendship and guidance to JHCN will be sorely missed

May his memory be for a blessing.
