Shabbat Celebration

Shabbat Shalom!

Shabbat Celebration Visits for the Homebound Named In Honor of Lillian Efros Kaufman

In honor of their beloved matriarch Lillian’s 95th birthday, the Kaufman Family has established a Life Enrichment Fund enabling JHCN to provide patients with Shabbat Celebration visits.

Lillian often speaks of her pride and joy in witnessing three generations of her descendants making Jewish education and traditions an integral part of their lives. This strong Jewish identity begins with Shabbat. Ensuring this celebration is available to JHCN patients is an important part of Lillian’s legacy.

At week’s end, JHCN rabbis will visit with palliative and hospice care patients, offering spiritual care, reciting blessings and singing Shabbat songs. Like all Life Enrichments, Shabbat celebration visits enhance quality of life while bringing peace, comfort and connection at a very vulnerable time. These experiences are available to our home-bound patients at no charge.
