JEWISH COMMUNAL ORGANIZATIONS
JARC • jarc.org
The Jewish Hospice and Chaplaincy Network provides end of life pastoral care to residents of JARC. The needs of these residents with developmental disabilities are often overlooked or misunderstood when facing terminal illness or end-of-life issues of a loved one. In addition, social work services and volunteers are available to residents. JHCN does training for JARC staff on issues relating to end of life needs and services.
JFS – Jewish Family Service • jfsdetroit.org
Jewish Family Service and the Jewish Hospice and Chaplaincy Network have collaborated to create two unique programs to assist in the care of the terminally ill; a volunteer training program and Lifelinks. Lifelinks is a central reference and referral service for health care and social service providers as well as consumers dealing with terminal illness. It is a “Lifeline” linking Jewish patients and families to “what they need, when they need it,” including linkages to JFS services, home care resources and services in the larger community. In addition to these programs, Jewish Family Service provides office space for Jewish Hospice and Chaplaincy Network and a broad diversity of social service to patients and families.
Jewish Senior Life • jslmi.org
Jewish Senior Life and Jewish Hospice and Chaplaincy Network work together to help care for and find appropriate resources for residents in need of hospice and end of life care. A full range of services is available to help seniors maintain quality of life and remain in their home with the benefit of hospice related services.
Kadima • kadimacenter.org
Kadima is a Jewish mental health agency that offers psychological services and residential options for persons affected by psychiatric disabilities. Jewish Hospice and Chaplaincy Network works with Kadima when residents and clients are affected by terminal illness and provides training to Kadima staff on Jewish end of life care issues.
